Lochmaben to St Ann’s / Raehills

9 mile (14 km) OS Landranger 78

From Lochmaben the route continues, on its western, leg, north to St Ann’s. If departing from Lochmaben the route passes through the Torwood and by Dryfe Sands, the site of a ferocious encounter between the Maxwells and the Johnstones.
Beyond, the Way passes through Applegarthtown with its delightful church. The Eastern and Western legs of the Way merge at Millhousebridge and continue together to St Ann’s. There is no accommodation available at St Ann’s so it is recommended that you exit from the Way where it meets the road at Blackburn, turn right (E) and head for Johnstonebridge and the Johnstonebridge Services where a comfortable bed and food is available.
